Mini Staycation

Hunter has been traveling more than we would like so we decided to take a mini "staycation."  We made the long trek over to Scottsdale and stayed for two days and one night.  It was a quick 20 minute car ride and well worth the long road trip!

We stayed at the Westin Kierland Resort because it has a lazy river and water slide.  The kids were sold as soon as we mentioned that.  Also, we could walk to shops and restaurants.  There was a great interactive program for the kids.  It was kind of like a scavenger hunt around the entire property.  Each time they went to a different store, restaurant, etc. they received a stamp in their passport.  At the end they could get pins to take home in exchange of the passport.  Of course, we were in the car driving away when we realized we forgot to make that exchange.  Woops!  Oh well.  We had a great time getting away together as a family even if it was only for a short trip!

The sun was soooo bright!

Too much sunscreen, Mom!

The awesome lazy river

Weeeeeeee!

They went down the slide about 89 million times.  Or so it felt like it.

After a long day in the sun, a bottle and some air conditioning

Palm trees and cactus.  Only in Arizona!

They're way too big!

Peyton took this one.  Pretty good!
